RADIO BROADCASTING

"69.1 BOMBA RADIO STATION"

"Voice of one, Voice of none"

Hi to all my readers out there! So for today I’m going to share to you my one of a kind onehour interview to one of the staffs of the leading radio station in Mindanao State University, the BOMBA radio station! I am Uni-Pearl A. Estolloso one of the news anchors in the BOMBA RADTIO STATION!

1.       Can you give some of your experiences while making the radio broadcasting with your group mates?

Radio Broadcasting is very hard well all I can say this activity is so tiring and we did a lot of repetition. We couldn’t give the right voice, the emotion and in the advertisement it should be play together to the original for us to edit it easily. But it’s all worth it because your voice record you heard is amazing like me (HAHA) all you can say is that “As in? Akoa ng voice? Nindot lagi?” and the best feeling is when your groupmates told you that you have an amazing voice (charot!).
The most difficult is that you always record again and again like you gave everything but it would never worth it. To be honest I cried for that activity because I feel so very tired. All of you spend your weekend of that recording. And another thing that the most difficult was to find a place without any noise for us to record freely. So what we did was we went to boyens house thanks kuya boyen for the good accommodation.

2.       What are the lessons you have learned while making the material?

The lesson that I have learned in Radio Broadcasting is that you need to give an effort and of course the unity of the group because without unity we cannot done that Radio Broadcasting in excellent result (charot!). You can’t even finish that recording in one day. All you need is patience and importantly a motivation. It’s very hard and realized every activity or work in this world you need to give effort for us to have a good result. How about the DJ’s around the world? There work is not easy they put more effort for it. As long as you love what you’re doing there no more reason to become tired. That’s your passion and love it with all your heart.

TEACHER IN ME

"A TEACHER IS ALSO A STUDENT"

Why did I choose this path? How ready am I in teaching students of generation Z? Everyone will, of course, have a different answer to this questions. There are many reasons why people choose to become a teacher. First, let’s start why I chose this profession.

When I was in high school my dream is to be an HRM because I love cooking. One time I asked my mother “Nay, ma HRM lang ko ha?” and then she answered “Hindi lang kay ang mga pinsan mo HRM mga curso nila paryas2 na kamo” that time I’m disappointed. One of my aunt ask me “ Ano kuhaon mo nga curso jhing? Then I answered “HRM tani tita kaso hindi lang dw hmbal ni nanay “and again she answered me back “Accountancy nalang jhing dako sweldo ah parihas kay kuya noy2” and me was like “Oo no sigesige”. And again and again my mother told me that “how about you take education? It’s a life time career and big salary”. So, when I took MSU SASE I chose my 1st choice is Accountancy and 2nd choice BSed Mathematics. I passed the MSU SASE and sad to say I didn’t reach the cut off score of my dream course which is my 1st choice. I don’t have any choice so, I got a slot for BSed Mathematics at first I don’t like teaching and I hate reporting’s which is teacher always do reporting’s like demo teaching (Duh!).

It’s been 3 years and guess what I learned to love teaching because of my course I improved my reporting skills, I practiced myself to engage in paper works even its so tiring (hays!). When I was in 1st year college I don’t have any confidence in reporting and I’m so lazy in my paper works but now guess what I don’t even practice before my report even the result is not excellent but still I can report even without practicing my script not like before I make many script and practice and in reporting’s I forgot everything. Our FS1 to be honest I’m so happy I don’t know how to explain my feelings when someone greeted me a “Good Morning Ma’am” even you’re tired it is all nothing when you heard that greetings. So, I never regret that I chose this path.

How ready am I in teaching students of generation Z?

Teaching is not an easy task, this is a noble profession and you have to take this seriously, to love it and dedicate yourself into this profession. This day I fully realized that I am really meant for the teaching profession because for 3 years in schooling and observing I never stop being an educator. And I believed that teaching is a noble and important profession and is an element of change for the society. And by this I will accept the challenges in improving myself and dedicate myself in teaching and being a second parent for them and keep on supporting them as they grow and graduate to be a well-developed and will have an important part of the society.

THE METRIC SYSTEM CONVERSION

"No matter what you do, your job is to

tell you story"

A considerable proportion of these students don’t fit the traditional “listen/read/write” mold that we remember from our schooldays, despite this still being the norm today.

Some are curious and want to learn, others are less keep on learning in the traditional sense and may be easily distracted but highly creative; others may not be able to physically attend school but are thirsty for knowledge.

I learned a lot in video editing. There are many things we can do by these, all you have to do is be patience in doing it. And this is time consuming so, you need to focus while you making video and give more time if you have any video presentation. Even if video editing is tiring and time consuming yet it will be worth it at the end.

"MICROSOFT PUBLISHER"

Publisher uses:
  • making certificates
  • making cards

It usually comes pre-packaged with Microsoft Office and it allows non-design professionals to make nice looking newsletters, flyers and other publications with a short learning curve. It is good for that administrative assistant tasked with creating a flyer or newsletter but desktop publishing isn’t a regular duty. It isn’t standard publishing software but it is available to someone who creates publications occasionally and it looks and behaves like all Office products. Publisher publications can be converted to PDF and most printers can work with that format. Publisher is a readily available tool to complete an assigned task. It isn’t the best tool but in the work world you have to use the tools that are available rather than the tools you want.

"For me, teachers to bring in rich and engaging content from the web, guest speakers and solutions from education partners like Canvas, Flipgrid and Kahoot!. Most importantly, Teams helps students develop the communication and collaboration skills they’ll need to be successful in the future."

FREEDOM WRITERS

"ALWAYS TEACH WITH A HEART"

1. Describe Mrs. Gruwell as a teacher. How did she handle her class? What are her qualities that made her a teacher of yesteryears? 21st century teacher?

“A teacher must be devoted to his/her students”. This was seen in the movie “Freedom Writers”, where a teacher who suffer to teach her students to have respect, how to motivate them every day and how socialized in the other ethnic group. A freshmen students was disrespect to their teacher, named Mrs. Gruwell. Mrs. Gruwell is an inexperienced teacher and that was her first day in teaching she even think of how to become a good teacher. It was first day that Mrs. Gruwell encounter how the freshmen student disrespect her being a newly teacher, every day she always faced that kind of challenged which her students showed her a high level of disrespect and her students are hard to understand each other. While Mrs. Gruwell taught she developed different types of strategies to boost them in taking part class activities.

2. Describe the composition of Mrs. Gruwell’s class? How is racism manifested in the movie?

The students in class was so racial and only communicated with students of the same ethnic group. The students have no interest in school or in her but she still tried her best because she loves teaching and the more her students were like that, the more she determined to teach them and encouraged them. She tried different method or techniques to convince her students.

3.  Describe the principal and Mrs. Gruwell’s coordinator. How would relate their characters and views in real life?

In the film, as Erin Gruwell becomes more devoted to her teaching, her husband Scott starts to feel neglected. Eventually, the two divorce with Scott telling her, "I'm living a life I didn't agree to." This part of the movie is true. Erin Gruwell and her husband did divorce for reasons similar to those presented in the film amd the Principal which was Margaret Campbell her attitude their is opposite to Mrs. Gruwell.

4. What are the strategies and activities she used to her class? How did it help in making her class successful?

She tried different methods or techniques to convince her        students. According to the this “Knowledge is not generated within an individual but rather is constructed through reaction with people and other objects around, such as books.” Mrs. Gruwell techniques to help students love reading and writing journals for them. She tried everything that can clutch the students to participate in group activities and to show their interest in school.

5. Is there uses of technology in the class? Elaborate

Technology helps a lot to the freedom writers to share their story. Gruwell and her students have appeared on many television show. Her class has been featured on National Public Radio and in national newspapers and People magazine. Paramount Pictures released the feature-length film Freedom Writers in January 2007, a film based on Gruwell’s story featuring Hilary Swank in the lead role.

6.  If you’ll be assigned with a class or students in conflict, how will you handle it?

If I will be assigned with a class in conflict. First, a teacher should always “teach with a heart” successful teaching must be a passion. I say “always teach with a heart” because teaching will be evermore challenging. In our humanist, we may sometimes get weary and the burning desire to teach might somehow waver but if we put out heart into what we do we can always find strength to move forward and handle the class until you they can show their interest in school.

7. What are your insights and leanings after watching the movie?

After I saw the movie there was no doubt in my mind that I would be a teacher. I was certain of my calling as early. I say “always teach with a heart” this will be a good result at the end. If you’re dedicated to your job you never get tired and regret everything even, you’ll be assigned with a class in conflict. The movie is truly moving I learned a lot to Mrs. Gruwell because of the determination and compassion she have.

MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

"IT’’S ME UNIQUE UNI"

Hi to my readers out there! I’m Uni-Pearl Alagos Estolloso and I was born on the 25th of April, 1999 in Prk. Lapu-Lapu Proper Poblacion Sto Nino South Cotabato currently taking up BSed Mathematics at Mindanao State University, I graduated at Sto Nino National High School and I’m already on my 3rd year in College.  My parents were Jun M. Estolloso and Merylo A. Estolloso. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

My early childhood was typical low class environment (though) the 90’s. My father is a business man and my mother is a stay at home mother. I had a happy, normal childhood as an only child, leaving me somewhat spoiled. With the fresh start, I start with my elementary days, I was that kind of person that all of my classmates didn’t like me guess what they always bully me like “Putot, Payat, Pangit, Dungas (ouch!)” and many more (can’t remember though) and then when I entered my high school life some of my classmates still bullying me (Whatever!). And in my high school life I was an honor student which was rank 2. I’m so very competitive during that days and I joined to all the activities in school.

And now in my college life are all new, new classmates, new environment, new teachers, new buildings, new friends and all was new. The hardest part when you are in college is where you are far to your family and live an independent life. Being an independent is hard but yet it’s a challenge for me. I have my likes and dislikes but it so many to mention (peace). The part of my body that I love the most are my hair and my nails, its obvious right? I love to collect shoes, clothes, nail polish, bags, wallets and many more in short I love colleting things. I have my goals. First, to finish my college degree, second to get a permanent job and lastly to make my parents proud. I believe in a saying that “It nice to be important but important to be nice”. That’s all and asking for your time to read my articles. Thank you so much, God bless you! J
